After seeing a flameworking demonstration at a local street fair in Pittsburgh, I became fascinated by the mysterious nature of glass – its dichotomy between solid and liquid states, and strength and fragility, that eventually once manipulated, is set to last eternally frozen in time. Using a torch, gravity, and a few tools to influence the glass, there are no two pieces ever the same – each piece I create is unique in the universe. Glass is the most challenging medium I have come across, and I’ve been fortunate to have access to studio spaces over the last 6 years to practice this craft. This art form has brought out a passion that I didn’t know existed and enabled countless life connections. Your support is integral as I chase my imagination,
