Lisa LaFlam

Working across canvas, wood, stone, and shells, Lisa blends acrylic paint, inks, paint pens, watercolor, gouache, fabric, nail foils, paper, and metal embellishments to create one-of-a-kind pieces that feel both playful and meaningful. Her abstract compositions are inspired by movement, nature, and the quiet beauty found in everyday moments. Each piece evolves intuitively, revealing layers of color, detail, and texture that invite the viewer to look closer.
Beyond the gallery wall, Lisa’s creative practice extends into teaching and community engagement. Through workshops and classes across the Seacoast region, she shares techniques in mixed media, nail foil art on Santorini stone, decoupage collage shell art with metal accents, fabric-based projects, and experimental surface designs. Her studio, The Curious Thread Studio, reflects this expansive approach—where materials intersect, ideas connect, and creativity flows freely between mediums.
For Lisa, the “thread” is the invisible line of curiosity and connection that runs through every piece she creates and every class she teaches.
